Open Source C# NFC / NDEF Library Updated

The NDEF Library for Proximity APIs / NFC has already been downloaded more than 3000 times from its project website and the NuGet servers – great statistics for a library!

Half a year ago, we’ve released the first stable version, which has proven itself in our own products and many other 3rd party NFC apps. We’ve integrated fixes and extensions to the online library source code, and decided it was now about time to release an updated version: v1.1.0.

The new release is now available for download, along with a slightly updated demo app. Of course, the package has also been updated on the NuGet and the symbol source servers.

Chages in v1.1.0

  • SMS handling improved: allows wrong sms:// scheme, parses URLs without body text and/or number
  • Social record adds Google+ and the FourSquare protocol
  • Adds dictionary of available Nokia Accessories including their product names
  • NearSpeak record now understands cloud-based tags
  • Improved comments for NDEF message, removed debug output
