NFC for Developers

To help developers with creating NFC apps, a new developers section is now available on nfcinteractor.com!

It combines links to articles and technical presentations I’ve created on NFC. In addition, you can find information about web services and open source projects.

The major new addition is the NFC Comparison for Developers. While NFC is basically standardized, the level of API support for developers varies greatly between the different platforms. On some platforms, advanced operations might be possible with a simple API call; on others, a developer needs to manually write several pages of source code to take care of the tag communication to achieve the same effect; while again on other platforms, the operation might not be allowed at all.

The NFC Developer Comparison is a much-needed document for anyone who needs to know more about the NFC API support of his chosen target platform. It is even more crucial for developers creating multi-platform apps, to check if the required features are indeed available on all targeted platforms.

The document is available for free. You can either view it right on the web site through the Excel 2013 Web App, or download a PDF file.
